Holy Smoke Resort FAQ

1. How far away is Mt Rushmore?

      Holy Smoke Resort is located about 1.6 miles north of Keystone on Hwy 16A, only 4 miles from Mt Rushmore.

2. Are you centrally located to area attractions?

     Yes, Holy Smoke Resort is located about 1.6 miles north of Keystone on Hwy 16A, only 4 miles from Mt Rushmore.  Other attractions in the area are 5 to 45 minutes away with the exception of Hot Springs, Badlands, Deadwood, which are approximately 1 1/2 hours.  All in different directions.

 3. What is your cancellation policy?

     All reservations are guaranteed with a credit card. We require all reservations be cancelled 3 days prior to arrival and there is a $25.00 cancellation fee. Reservations not meeting the 3 day (72 hour) cancellation will be charged for the first night stay. Policy for multiple units and Sturgis Rally reservations will be different.

4. Are towels and linens provided?

     Yes, we provide all towels and linens and daily housekeeping service.

5. Do you allow pets?

     Yes, we allow dogs only.  There is a charge of $10.00 per pet per night and a maximum of two pets.

6. Are there wildlife on the property?

     Yes.  Chances are you will see deer, fox and wild turkey.   We have also seen elk and mountain goats in the past.

7. Do you provide toasters and utensils in your kitchenettes?

     We do not provide utensils or plates in our cabins.

8. Are your cabins air conditioned and heated?  Do they have bathrooms?

     Yes, all cabins are air conditioned and heated and have a bathroom with a shower.

9. Do your cabins have TVs?

     Yes, we have limited commercial dish system.

10. Do you have Internet?

     Yes, Holy Smoke Resort offers you high speed internet throughout our facility.  However we are experiencing some issues with coverage in certain areas due to the terrain.  We are looking for resolution in these areas and should have them resolved in the very near future.

11. Can reservations be made online?

     Yes, and feel free to call us 1-866-530-5696 if you don't see the cabin you want as available online.  We may be able to find openings for the type of cabin you prefer.

12. Are the rates on the internet current?

     Yes, but we do offer some off season and multiple night specials.  Call us 1-866-530-5696 to check for specials on long stays. We do offer a monthly rate for the RV park only.

13. How far is Rapid City Regional Airport?

     The airport is about a 30-40 minute drive.

14. Is Holy Smoke Resort open year-round?

     No, we are open seasonally from mid May through September.  We do answer our phones and take reservations year-round.  If you happen to get our voice mail, please leave us a message.  We will return all calls.

15. When can I make a reservation for the season?

     We answer our phones and accept reservations all year.  If you call during our off season, please leave a voicemail.  We return all calls.

16. Does the RV Park have laundry facilities?

     No, there is a laundromat about three minutes away in Keystone.

17. Do you allow tents in the RV park?

     No, Holy Smoke RV Park is for RVs only.  We do not provide public restrooms or showers.

18. Does the RV Park have 50 amp service?

     Yes, all sites are 50 amp and 30 amp capable.

19. Are the RV sites back-in or pull-through?

     All RV sites are pull-through.

20.  Can I get my sat signal in the RV park?

     Yes.  There are a few sites with southern exposure.  Be sure when you reseve to request a rooftop sat friendly site.

21.  How long are the RV sites?

     Our RV sites are all long pull-throughts with full hookup.  The shortest site is about 65 feet long.

22.  Do we need dinner reservations?

     We accept reservations, however, they are not required.  We do highly recommend reservations for parties of 8 or more from mid June to mid August.
